Alfredo Gobbi performed in the Sextet Vardaro- Pugliese. The young Troilo was playing here as well. Then he also played with Pedro Laurenz. In 1942 he created his own orchestra and performed in the Sans Souci of Corrientes Street. According to Astor Piazzolla he is the father of all the people who did tango: Troilo, Di Sarli, and himself. He was in constant exchange of ideas with Osvaldo Pugliese. His style was deep, and sometimes dark. His orchestra has high musical complexity. Everything musical and stylistic decision is driven for the maximum expressivity in the words pf Ignacio Varchauvsky .
