2) Pay $80 in advance for 4 classes (any) and 4 practicas (to be used
in a period of 6 weeks)
Note for absolute beginners:
If you do not know how to dance tango at all, you should start with
Monday class (no partner necessary). You can
start at any time. About shoes: women: please do not bring flip flops
or any kind of sandals that have unsupported ankle. Make sure that you
are very comfortable in the shoes you are wearing. For both men and
women: make sure that the shoes you are wearing have leather, suede
sole or any kind of sole that allows you to pivot and to slide on the
floor.
Description of Classes
Mondays
1) SUPERVISED PRACTICA- For Intermediate/Advanced dancers 7-9 pm. Great
variety of traditional/alternative music and moods.2)
BEGINNER CLASS 8:30-10 pm. Work on the basics of traditional tango and
milonga. Focus on lead and follow and on musicality $15 (or $50 for 4
taken in 6 weeks)
Notice that there is an overlap of half hour between the PRACTICA and
the beginner class. This half hour is for registration, meet people,
and practice what you learned in the previous class.

Tuesdays
TECHNIQUE CLASS FOR LEADERS AND FOLLOWERS: 7:00-8:00 pm $15 (or $50 for
4 taken in 6 weeks)
Makela created this technique class where elements from ballet, modern
dance and yoga meet to train a great body to dance tango freely.

Semiprivates
Wednesdays and Thursdays evenings
Location (West Side) and specific time varies. NEXT SERIES START ON Sept 3rd.
Price: $100 per person for 4 classes paid in advance. No transfers, no make ups, no refunds.
Instructor approval required prior to the class.
2-3 couples (4-6 participants) will work with Makela closely in what
they need to improve. They need to sign and pay in advance in order to
keep their slot. Open registration for next series: Starting on Sept 3rd.
If you don't have a partner but you are interested in participating let me know and I will try to find a partner for you.
The semiprivate classes:
- will help you to address the specific problems that you are having in social dancing.
- will help you to learn things that you might never have heard before in group instruction.
- are affordable.
Private Coaching
If you would like to get maximum attention,
and if you would like to learn really fast, consider taking PRIVATE
LESSONS ($90 for one hour for one person, $110 for one hour for two
people, ask about discount packages-floor fee not included). Private lessons are held in Santa
Monica.
